BREVILLE DRILL MATE

as aesthetic as it is functional

Reframing the concept of a household drill, the Drill Mate was the result of a brand swap exercise, combining Makita’s tool production with Breville’s aesthetic and market. The design came from an understanding that most homeowners have minimal use for a drill. Instead of burying it in the bottom of a drawer, the Drill Mate begs to be shown off; presenting it’s sculptural beauty while docked, you’ll always know where to find your Drill Mate when you need it.

Built around a pre-determined contents package, this project delved into design for manufacture. Bringing the power tool market to Breville’s range, Drill Mate is a high-end drill/driver designed to be as aesthetic as it is functional.
